With the Raw Food and conscious choice healthy lifestyle I follow, I sometimes have times of intense joy and feel ‘supercharged’, other days a big black cloud. While many carb cravers do become overweight or obese, others control their weight by exercising more, eating less at meals, or turning to low-fat carbs such as popcorn.
Eating carbohydrates seems to help carb cravers feel better in about 20 minutes, according to Wurtman’s research. When you eat carbs, your body makes more serotonin, the feel-good hormone that is boosted when you are on an antidepressant. Eating the carbs, is an attempt to undo the depressed mood.
As a raw food advocate, what is my course of action, what food do I turn to, to find satiation as it has got to be more than an emotional tie to the craving. I have found that as I have moderated the fat content in my diet I eat a lot of sweet fruit and have been successful in finding a balance that works for me. There is a lot of scare tactics about fruit and the sugars that go along with them, this is something that I have personally found to be so far from the truth. By eating and obtaining a large component of your calorie intake, with quality good sweet fruits you will get your carbohydrate needs met. Couple it with a healthy energetic exercise routine, and you will be well on your way to a healthy Raw food lifestyle
When we decide to make a change,it can be like an open top sports car ride in the middle of an English winter, daring to do something different, feeling the wind in your hair, smelling the fresh air. Reality sets in pretty quick as the nose turns to an ice cube and the teeth start sounding like Spanish castanets clacking together.
When ever you venture into a deviation from the journey you have been on, our map is only based on what has gone before, so what ever comes up, gets judged and graded by what ever past experience we are relating to.
This where the holistic intent of raw foods comes into it, understanding the need for change and having your consciousness being raised, to start asking questions and examining fore-held beliefs.
Just as people who find the struggle is to abstain from alcohol, needing a kind word and a supporting hand, will be a life preserver to many. In the transition from a cooked food, non conscious diet, there has to be a letting go of old thoughts and you need a helping hand. It is not about a fail or pass, but a continuing journey towards a healthy Raw Food lifestyle helped by other travelers of that road. At the end of the day the person who will be able to fulfill the journey, will have to make choices that are beyond external influences, gathering strength from a desire within. Is it the diet that will help all eating disorders and depression? I do not know, I would say without hesitation it is a boon to eat of clean fare and pleasant water but not all get the opportunity
So the intent of understanding a simple raw food life style may be the concept that starts a journey, and a spiritual shift secures the continuation of conscious evolving.
Change, which is on of the only things that remains consistent in life,finding your own values is what will be your supporting purpose in life. To hold a belief that the result of a certain action had to be X so I could feel Y, I would be setting myself up for great disappointment,life is not about “or’s”, it is more about “ands”.
The pity party we all get on to at times when we have our story to uphold, is this a chemical induced state from a dietary deficiency, an imbalance in the sugars of brain function, brought on by foods that do not serve us, or is it the thoughts we have, that distort the pathways and neural synapses of the thinking chemistry.
Perception of self is a dangerous thing if you are not “balanced” and your chemistry awry. To this end I have seen, and experienced enough results, by following a raw food active lifestyle, that I would hold this as a gold standard to be able engage, in a purposeful, healthy life, full of conscious decision making and spiritual awareness.
